Water gushes out of all the 21 gates of the Almatti Dam in Bijapur district on Monday. Some 120,000 cusecs was released as the inflow of water into the dam, thanks to incessant rains, has been filling up reservoirs across the State.

cusec measures the rate of flow. a reference to how long the gates were open will give a better estimate of how much water was released!
